Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Principles of transparency, data protection, and terms of use for studying the Italian language.

Our Core Commitments at a Glance

Maestro Italo is designed as a calm, rigorous, and completely private study environment. Here are the four foundational pillars governing your data:

100% Privacy by Design

No mandatory user accounts, no passwords, no commercial profiling, and zero tracking for advertising purposes.

Local Browser Storage

Your learning progress, preferences, and custom practice decks reside solely in your browser's local memory (localStorage).

Zero Advertisements

No promotional banners, no third-party ad pixels, and no interruptions to your active recall study flow.

Free Educational Access

An open platform built for personal study, active practice, and mastering Italian grammar rules.

1. Privacy Policy & "Privacy by Design" Philosophy

Maestro Italo was built from day one under the core principle of Privacy by Design. We believe that deep language learning requires focus, calmness, and absolute respect for student privacy.

Unlike most modern educational apps, we do not require user registration, we do not collect email addresses for accessing lessons, and we never link your practice to social media profiles.

  • Zero commercial profiling or data brokerage to third parties.
  • Full and unrestricted access to all didactic modules and conjugation tools without creating an account.
  • No centralized remote logging of your individual quiz answers or mistakes on external servers.

2. Local Data & Browser Storage (localStorage)

To allow you to customize your learning setup without transmitting personal data to remote servers, Maestro Italo relies on standard web browser local storage (localStorage):

Settings & Preferences (maestro_settings)

Stores your active interface language, preference for permanently visible hints (alwaysShowHints), and idiom difficulty settings.

Custom Practice Presets (custom_presets)

Saves customized exercise decks created by the user (title, question count, selected tenses, and conjugation formats).

Session Filters (maestro_session_filters)

Remembers your selected filter criteria in Free Session mode to avoid having to reconfigure them each time.

Active Session History (maestro_exercise_history)

Temporarily tracks recently answered questions during the current session to prevent immediate question repeats.

💡 Full User Control: You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser cache and site data, or by resetting options on the Settings page.

3. Technical Metrics, Performance & Ethical Analytics

Solely to maintain technical stability, detect server errors, and optimize page load speeds (Core Web Vitals), Maestro Italo may use anonymous and aggregate technical metrics (e.g., Vercel Web Analytics).

  • No persistent cross-site tracking cookies are used.
  • No full IP addresses or unique device fingerprints are collected or retained.
  • All analytics data is strictly numerical, aggregated, and non-identifiable (e.g., server response latency and aggregate page loads).

4. General Terms of Use & Educational Purpose

Access to Maestro Italo is provided free of charge strictly for personal study, linguistic training, and educational reference.

By using the platform, users agree to abide by standard fair-use guidelines:

  • •Use the platform in full compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards.
  • •Refrain from automated bulk scraping, reverse engineering, or aggressive extraction of the exercise database.
  • •Avoid attempting to compromise the security or availability of the hosting infrastructure.

5. Intellectual Property & Copyright

All original educational content—including grammar explanations in the Grammar Guide, contrastive linguistic notes, conjugation generators, Verbi nel Contesto narrative snippets, source code, risograph icons, and the "Studio Classico" visual brand—is protected by copyright laws.

  • •Personal Use Allowed: Users are permitted to consult, study, and print content solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
  • •Commercial Use Prohibited: Unauthorized reproduction, resale, redistribution, or embedding of exercises into paid commercial packages is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.

6. Communications & Contact Form

If a user chooses to contact the creators via the contact form or email regarding feedback or error reports:

  • Your email address and message contents will be used solely to respond to your specific inquiry.
  • Your contact details will never be added to promotional marketing lists or shared with third parties.
  • Inquiry records are deleted periodically once the assistance request is resolved.

7. Accuracy, Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Maestro Italo team takes great care in verifying all conjugation tables, sample sentences, and pedagogical explanations according to contemporary Italian usage and CEFR levels (A1–B2).

However, the platform is provided on an "as is" basis without implied warranties of absolute infallibility or guaranteed exam passage.

The creators are not liable for minor residual errata or temporary server downtime due to scheduled maintenance.

8. Policy Updates & Ongoing Transparency

We reserve the right to update this policy periodically to reflect new educational tools, technical improvements, or legal standards.

The current version will always remain accessible on this page with the updated revision date clearly displayed.
